Son of my heart,
The son of my flesh is dead. II had thought that Iacobus was moving beyond the petty jealousies and underhand methods of his youth, but it seems that I was once again wrong. I will not go into further detail of his death, but the circumstance has severely compromised relations with Pitax, endangered our overland trade route and once more cast suspicious eyes upon us from the north.
My heart lies heavy in my breast, but duty compels me to recommend that you distance yourself from our family, to avoid entangling in these unpleasant affairs. I would see the good you have turned your unjust punishment into flourish. May Erastil smile upon you and yours.
